May fishing was great. The weather was a different story.
The Salmon are still in the sound at this point of the season. Great Bear reef and Food islets have been the most consistent for my boat. Flash flies and needle fish hotchie patterns have been working the best.
The halibut and lingcod are definitely on the chomp. The barn yard and inside light have been very good for the halibut. Salmon scraps and herring are the tickets. The lingcod are coming a variety of different ways. Jigging, trolling lures, and on herring. Some days, we will try all three.
